Resolved Question: Back pain….what happened? 10 Mar 2010, 8:49 am

I got to the gym this morning did my usual stretch routing (Rotations and stretching of major body parts) and then I did a warm up run for about a half mile and then proceeded to play a pick up game of basketball (21 to be exact) During the game I drove the ball in, attempted a lay up, missed and as I was basically following through the motion of the lay up (coming to a stop under the basket) A sharp pain in the lower most part of my back (basically right above my tail bone) had started and was to the point where I couldn’t have my upper part of my body straight up, I had to stand in a bent over stance. When I was bent over, it didn’t hurt but when I tried to straighten up again, it would just kill me. I stopped playing and waited a second to see if it was just kinda like a pinched nerve but the pain didn’t go away so I called it a day and hit the showers. I am 26 years old. 6′1″ and about 280. I have been playing basketball for about a month and a half now every weekday before work, after work, and sometimes both. I haven’t ever had this issue and not sure what might of caused it or even what I can do to prevent it. I know I stretched my back very well (did what I call a “cannon ball roll”, which basically you sit down, and bring your knees to your chest, wrap your arms around your knees in a hugging fasion and roll back holding your knees until you get to your shoulder blades and then rock back up to the starting position, and did that for about 20 seconds) Any ideas????

Resolved Question: Why do I always have lower back pain? 9 Mar 2010, 10:52 pm

I am 17 and I always seem to re-aggravate my lower back. I play basketball alot but its not a common injury. Is there any other reason why I could be having back pain?

Resolved Question: Which is better for back pain? 9 Mar 2010, 5:16 pm

My breasts have recently grown a lot so Im kinda not used to them yet i guess. Theyve been giving me a lot of back pain lately. Ive tried icyhot patches, tylenol and advil. None of them did much more than dull the pain slightly. Anything else that i can try?

Resolved Question: My mom has severe back pain what do I do? Please help she is in a lot of pain!? 9 Mar 2010, 3:24 pm

My mom is 40 years old and has never had back pain before. Today she was getting groceries out of the trunk and picked up some oranges (no more than 5lbs) and she all of a sudden had this severe back pain. She has to crawl back into the house and grab the phone to call my dad. This happened about 3 hours ago. When I came home from school she managed to get on the couch, but when she moved a little bit she would look like she was about to cry. She took some Motrin which helped a little bit, but she is still in severe pain. I helped go to the bathroom and I am really concerened. My dad is a doctor, but he just started his new job and he has a lot of patients so my mom told him not to come home. My uncle is also a doctor, but he is not answering is cell phone. I keep asking my mom if she wants me to call a doctor or something, but she tells me don’t do it. Please help me and I’m sorry if I have any spelling/grammer mistakes, I am typing this in a rush!
